In partnership with state and local officials and community-based organizations, Surry County Schools is announcing an expansion plan to provide meals for students and families during ongoing school closures. While school closures continue to be necessary to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we know that many of our children and families rely on the daily meals they receive in our schools. Therefore, Surry County School Nutrition is expanding its current grab and go meal service to ensure Surry County students and families
All elementary schools in the Surry County School System are accepting kindergarten registration for children who are 5 years old on or before August 31, 2020. Surry County Schools is pleased to announce it has received a $3,722,612 School Climate Transformation Grant-LEA funded 100% with federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education. This grant will serve all 7,600 K-12 Surry County School System students across all 19 schools. During the five-year grant, CARE: Climate and Relationships that Encourage will focus on a whole-district immersion approach to a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) that transforms our K-12 school climates into supportive academic,
