National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Students are selected for membership based on excellent academic record and evidence of excellence in the four areas listed above (scholarship, leadership, service and character).
National Honor Society members meet at least once a month and participate in a service project determined by the current members of the society. This year, our NHS members are creating care packages for soldiers overseas and are fundraising to create those packages.
Being a member of National Honor Society is an extreme accomplishment in terms of academics and character. We are very proud of our NHS members at North Surry!
