What are PAW Readers?

  • Panther Award Winning Readers 2017 - 2018

Cedar Ridge uses the P.A.W. reading incentive program for primary students. P.A.W. Readers are students who reach their reading goals set by their specific grade level.  The books must be recorded on their PAWS reading sheet nightly in order to qualify.  Students are rewarded in the classroom and throughout the school for their accomplishments.

Kindergarten and First Grade students are expected to read at least 150 books to participate in the December reward.  They are expected to read at least 150 additional books to participate in the May reward or 300 books for the year!  Good Luck Panthers!

Students should be reading nightly.  Improvement comes from practicing by reading at least 20 minutes every night.  Helping your child become a fluent reader builds academic success.
