The Beginning Teacher in Year 1

  • The BT in Year 1:

    • Completes New Teacher Orientation
    • Required to attend all scheduled Beginning Teacher meetings            
    • Develops a PDP (Professional Development Plan)
    • Completes Classroom Management professional development (recommended, but not required)
    • Completes CRISS professional development (CRISS is recommended for 3rd grade teachers, but not required)

    Submits to the Beginning Teacher Haiku dropbox a copy of:

    • PDP Record of Activities (NCEES) at the end of the school year
    • Record of Teacher Evaluation Activities (NCEES) at the end of the school year
    • Summary Evaluation Form (NCEES) at the end of the school year
    • HRMS Report at the end of the school year
    • Extracurricular Exemption Waiver Form at the beginning of the school year
    • Mentor Contract at the beginning of the school year
    • Mentor Checklists 1-4 throughout the school year
