3rd Annual Sharon Hardy Memorial Par 3 Raises Educational Foundation Funds
The Surry County Schools Educational Foundation and Hardy’s Custom Golf are pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual Sharon Hardy Memorial Par 3 Tournament raised $3,500 on June 18, 2019.
The family of Sharon Hardy “continues Sharon’s legacy” by hosting the annual event. Sharon Hardy, who passed away in 2015, was a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Surry County School System for twenty-one years. The proceeds of the tournament benefit the Sharon Smith Hardy Educational Endowment Fund.
Choice Metal Buildings, was the Title Sponsor for the event with Dunmore Plantation as the Birdie Sponsor. A hot dog lunch from Dairy Center was provided midday for the players of the eight teams that participated.
Before the teams teed off, Rex Hardy, Sharon’s husband, said, “Sharon loved working with children and working with the schools. I appreciate everyone coming today to honor her and helping with this great cause.”
The morning’s first place team included Shane Hawks, Tommy Branch, and Junior Medley. The afternoon’s first place team included Buddy Edwards, Cam Eaton, and Don Love.
