Surry County Schools offers music and visual arts from kindergarten through 12th grade.  In middle school and high school students are offered band. Through arts education students learn many valuable lessons.  Teamwork and self-expression are promoted because these are not only necessary in the classroom but in the future workplace.

Student participate in local and state level visual arts shows and competitions.  Technology is promoted in visual arts to promote 21st century learning skills.  In the music program students participate in Elementary, Middle, and High School Honors Chorus.  Middle school and high school students audition for All-State Chorus.  Band students perform All-County Band, Northwest NC All-District Band, and the NC Music Performance Adjudication.
