Give a Kid a Christmas

  • Foundation History
In the early 1990s, we began this project with what at the time seemed to be an ambitious effort to feed so families. Through generous donations from people like you, that effort has grown each year by leaps and bounds.  Last year, in 2018, over 700 children received clothes and toys. In addition, the program provided over 250 food boxes to those in need.

For over 25 years the Surry County Sheriffs Office and Surry County Schools have worked in partnership to provide food, clothes, and Christmas gifts to those who otherwise would go without every year.

Why The Give a Kid a Christmas Campaign is So Important
Our goal is to make sure all children in Surry County have an adequate supply of food to get them through the school Christmas break, to ensure that each child has appropriate clothing to get them through the winter, and some toy or other item that they would like to have for Christmas. We believe that every boy and girl deserves to experience the joy and exhilaration of a happy Christmas morning with a full belly and warm clothes.

Together we can make a very real difference in the lives of these children!  We can make sure they have food, we can get them clothes and we can even make their Christmas morning one of joy. Together, we can continue to work to make sure EVERY child has a Merry Christmas!

    Partnership
Surry County Sheriff's Office partners with the Surry County School System officials to identify children who are in need of assistance.  Surry County Schools Social Workers aid in this process.
