#SCSUpdates | Surry County Schools would like to remind you that we will review the Home Language Surveys of newly enrolled and kindergarten students to see if language testing for Multilingual Learner services is needed. We have 30 days from the date of enrollment to conduct a parent interview, record review, complete a WIDA Screener test, and notify parents of the testing results & ML Services.
Our initial Screener testing window for newly enrolled kindergarten and other new students (grades 1-12) is August 08, 2024 through September 19, 2024.

If your child attends a school where all students get free meals, also known as Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools, your student may be eligible for a new summer food assistance program called SUN Bucks. Visit www.ncdhhs.gov/sunbucks-schoolsearch and search your child’s school to see if it is a CEP school.
Starting this summer, families with qualifying children can expect to receive $120 per eligible child in grocery-buying benefits. Visit the SUN Bucks webpage at www.ncdhhs.gov/sunbucks to learn more.
