On Tuesday, April 15th, Surry Early College High School of Design students Kailey Garcia and
Macey Broughton competed in the SECHS YES Surry Entrepreneurship Competition. This
competition allows young entrepreneurs to compete for prize money to be invested in
their business projects. Kailey Garcia won first place and five hundred dollars for her
amazing photo booth business, 4K Diamond Decor. Macey Broughton secured second
place with her beautiful faith-based jewelry business, Beadifully Made by Macey, earning
two hundred and fifty dollars.
On May 1st, Kailey proudly represented Surry Early College High School of Design at the
YES Surry 2025 Final Competition. She earned 3rd place in the Proposed Business
category, securing an additional five hundred dollars in funding. This brings her total
winnings to one thousand dollars, which she will use to launch and grow her exciting new
photo booth business.
