All after-school events and activities are canceled, and there will be no after-school childcare this afternoon. We will continue to monitor weather conditions overnight.

Clara Anne won first place in the 2023 North Carolina School Board Association Elementary (3rd-5th grades) Poster Contest, which had the theme "What Makes a Good Friend?" Posters were judged on how well they addressed the topic, the quality of work, and the creativity of the poster.
Clara Anne’s poster reads “Be a lighthouse in someone’s storm,” which is a great message and something we should all aspire to be for those in our lives. Congratulations Clara Anne!

Today, Governor Roy Cooper toured Cedar Ridge Elementary School in Lowgap and delivered supplies collected from the Governor’s School Supply Drive. The Governor recognized the 2023 North Carolina Principal of the Year, Donna Bledsoe and visited several classrooms to speak with students, teachers, and support staff. He thanked educators for their dedication to helping students learn and grow.
