It was such an honor today to hear from one of the Flat Rock Six, Mr. Frankie. Mr. Frankie traveled to our school, HIS school, to share a story about turning tragedy into triumph. Mr. Frankie was in the school when it caught fire 68 years ago. He made it out with burns on about 70% of his body and shared how he overcame the hardships that came with that. Thank you, Mr. Frankie, for sharing your story. Our 3rd-5th graders will remember this for a long time to come!
