Yesterday we had a visit from the Mad Scientist! It was such a fun and engaging way to learn about science for our students.🧪

What a great day to celebrate with a ribbon cutting for our brand new gymnasium! We also celebrate our new steps to the playground, which was a project graciously completed by Benjamin Hiatt and his Boy Scout Troop! Thank you to all the great guest speakers for taking the time to be apart of this moment.

Over the last couple days we have had Holiday shirts/sweater day, Gingerbread day, and Kindergarten and First Grade went on a field trip to see the Polar Express! #FLATROCKSOLID
Students in Mrs. Marley’s 2nd grade class listened to The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett and coded the Beebot to answer questions about the story! #ReadingIsFun
One last shoutout post for our Robotics team, The Fire Breathing Dragons! 🌟 Last Saturday, they competed in the semi-finals round in Charlotte, NC. Another day filled with fun, hardwork, dedication, and teamwork! We are so proud of them and all of their accomplishments throughout the season. They truly represent #FLATROCKSOLID!💙🐲

The Surry County Board of Education has accepted multiple draft calendars for public comment for the 2024-2025 school year. This period is open for the next 30 days. Start dates include August 8, 2024, August 12, 2024, and August 26, 2024. At this time, only one of these calendars meets the requirements put forth by the NC General Assembly, which means August 8 and August 12 may not be an option under current guidelines. These calendars are available for public comment, and those who wish to contribute feedback are encouraged to fill out the attached Google form or contact the Surry County Schools Administrative Offices at (336)386-8211.
