Hello Mountaineers! This week on Tuesday, 1st grade travels to see the play Aladdin Junior. 3rd grade will travel to the Surry Government Center on Wednesday to experience the 4-H “Speedway to Healthy” program. On Wednesday, the Book Battle Team stays after school until 4:00; the Good News Club meets until 4:30. Upcoming on March 4th, we are hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive from 1:30 until 5:30, and we would greatly appreciate your help. If you are willing to donate blood, please call the school, and we will be happy to set up an appointment for you. You may also go to RedCrossBlood.org and enter code Mountain Park to register for a time to donate. Students who get at least one person to sign up for a donation and follow through with the donation will get free Italian ice from the Chill Mobile. Spring classroom group pictures will take place on March 7th. If you would like a group classroom picture, you have to prepay. Order forms will come home Wednesday this week. We are so thankful for every child, family member, guardian, volunteer, friend, and staff member in this special Mountain Park community.

Third-grader Libby Grayce Pierce participated in the North Central NC Region 5 Science and Engineering Fair held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, NC. She represented Mountain Park Elementary well and received an honorable mention for her project, “What A Drag!”. Congratulations!

At Mountain Park, students are chosen every quarter who are exemplifying what it means to be a Mountaineer. Students who care for others, lead by example, invent solutions to problems, make responsible decisions, and behave safely are chosen by their teachers as the student of the Quarter. This wonderful group of students were chosen for the second quarter and treated to a Pizza with the Principal Lunch. We are very proud of all of our Mountaineers!
