The PTO Raffle Ticket Sale for a $1,000 cash giveaway ends on Monday, December 4th. The winning ticket will be drawn at the home basketball game on Thursday.
There will be a band concert on Tuesday, December 5th at 6:30 pm.
I would like to wish our MathCounts team the best of luck as they compete at the countywide competition on Friday, December 8th at Central Middle School.
Finally, the Student Council is hosting a Food Drive this week. Items collected will be distributed to students in need and to our local community. Each grade level has been assigned specific items so we can ensure we have a variety of food for families. The grade level that brings in the most items will receive a donut party. Please refer to our Facebook page for specific items assigned to each grade level.

This week, the 6th-grade staff has chosen a student who exhibits great self-awareness and integrity as our Student of the Week.
Annamarie is always prepared, never afraid to ask a question, always works hard in classes, and stays focused, even if those around her are not. She always follows school rules, and often goes beyond expectations. We are proud of Annamarie and are pleased to recognize her as our Student of the Week for November 27 - December 1.

Congratulations to our School Spelling Bee Champion, Emily Spencer.
Emily will advance to the District Spelling Bee in February.

The Book Fair will be at PMMS this week. We will have a Parent Night at the Book Fair on Tuesday, November 28th from 3:15-6:00 pm in the Media Center.
Students will dismiss at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 1st.

She is now in high school. Her mother Ester Cortez and Ashton sold an amazing 48 boxes of chocolate bars! Wow!!!

Congratulations to 6th grader Raven Lane Griffith for being our top seller by selling 10 boxes in our fundraiser.
Lane won a $150 cash prize.

Congratulations to Raven Emilynn Haymore! Emilynn was contacted and invited to record as a lecturer to a masters level mental health Peds NP class at Duke! They asked her to give last years HOSA speech and talk about ADHD and the problems she sees in pediatric mental healthcare.

The All County Band Concert will take place on Tuesday, November 21st at 7:00 pm at Mount Airy High School. The Thanksgiving Break will be Wednesday-Friday this week. Students will return to school on Monday, November 27th.

The girls and boys swim team started out the season strong with a huge win against Mount Airy Middle School. The girls won 71-44. First place winners were Layla Comer, Stella Joyce, Emilynn Haymore and Cori Brinkley. The boys won 69-40. First place winners were Raiden Liles, Matthew Needham, Abram Richardson, Charlie Speagle and Caleb Sloop. Way to go Ravens!

This is your principal Molly Anderson. November 13th-17th is National Education Week. Please take the time to thank your child’s teachers for all their hard work.
On Monday, November 13th there will be a School Improvement Team meeting at 3:15 pm.
Also, on Monday our chorus students will be performing at the All County Chorus Concert at 7:00 pm at Mount Airy High School.
Progress reports will go home on Wednesday, November 15th.
I would like to wish the students representing PMMS at the county Science Fair the best of luck as they compete on Tuesday at Meadowview Middle School.
I would also like to wish our First Lego League Team the best of luck as they compete at the countywide competition on Saturday, November 18th at Surry Community College. Thank you and have a great evening.
