Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood:

8/18/25

Good evening Tiger Families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with Tiger News! Thank you families for a wonderful first week of school. We hope our tigers had as much fun as we did! 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade parent breakfast sessions are this week. You should have received a parent invite for our informational breakfast sessions at orientation. Parents are invited to eat breakfast with their child and stay to hear important information from the teacher. Please bring cash or check for your breakfast. You cannot eat using your child’s lunch account. Please mark your calendars for these sessions. Before and after school childcare starts on Monday, August 18th. Only students that have registered for daycare may stay. After school pick up is at the bus entrance door. Students will take their beginning of the year reading assessment this week. Thank you for having your child here on time, ready to work hard. Our Dobson Elementary Parade of Success is Friday morning at 8:30. Join us as we celebrate the kick off of a new school year! Students are encouraged to wear our tiger shirts on this day as we parade through the town square. Our $1 Raffle Ticket Fundraiser started Friday! We encourage all students to sell at least 1 book of tickets. If you would like more tickets to sell, please send a note to your child’s teacher. You may request more tickets after you have turned in what you have sold. Each child that sells 1 book of tickets will receive a homework pass. Students that sell 10 books of tickets will get to attend an ice cream party with Mrs. Hazelwood! The top 3 winners will receive $50.00 cash, $20 cash or tickets to various museums and parks. All the money raised will go towards instructional needs. Our raffle drawing will be on Friday, September 5th. Thank you for supporting our school! Our PTO is sponsoring a chocolate bar sale to raise funds for 4th grade’s Raleigh field trip. The money raised for each case of chocolate sold goes toward that student’s trip cost. Thank you for supporting this fun and exciting trip for our students. Summer reading bingo sheets are due to Mrs. Edwards on Monday. Thank you for taking time to read this summer! Have a wonderful second week of school! We will see you tomorrow! Good night!
