Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood:
1/13/25
Good evening Tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with Tiger News! Our yearbook sale has started! Yearbooks are $27 until February 7th. The price then increases to $31. The last day to order a yearbook is March 7th. Students have brought home their yearbook order envelope. Tuesday is the District Science Fair. We wish Laila Ayers and Sebastian Huerta good luck as they represent Dobson Elementary School. Report cards go home on Wednesday. This is a great time to sit down with your child and set goals for the third quarter. Our Honor roll and BUG Club celebration will be on Thursday afternoon. We are proud of our tigers for showing growth and meeting their goals. Our student council sponsored blood drive will be on Tuesday, January 21st from 1-5:30 in our gym. Come and give the gift of life! Our 2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration is now open! If you have a child that is 5 or will be 5 by August 31st, they are eligible for kindergarten registration. Please visit our school website and Facebook page to register today! Your child came home with a remote learning packet last week. Please put this somewhere safe as it will be used in the event of a remote learning day in the future. Finally, there is no school on Monday, January 20th due to Martin Luther King Holiday. Have a wonderful week! Good night!

#SCSUpdates | As of today, there are 83 students in our district that are experiencing homelessness. This is a 98% increase from last year at this point in the school year. With that being said, school social workers and staff members are doing a great job with identifying students who might qualify under the McKinney-Vento Act.
With the weather changes, students who are experiencing homelessness can be affected and how they might present themselves. Some signs that you might see could include the following: complaining about being cold frequently, missing gloves or hats, not having proper winter footwear, wearing the same clothes repeatedly, even when visibly dirty, or wearing clothes that are too small or too big for their size.
If you suspect a student is experiencing homelessness due to cold weather, please use the QR code to contact Paris Green, HMS POC.

Instead, we will combine that route with our other buses.
Please be aware that drop-off times for students riding the bus this afternoon will vary. Your student could be dropped off earlier or later than usual.
Thank you for being home and prepared to receive your child off the bus.
Again,
Afternoon bus routes will be combined and students' drop-off times will vary.
