It's National School Counselor Appreciation Week, and we couldn't be more thankful for Mrs. Pack! She goes above and beyond for our students. Thank you for all you do to serve our students.
Mrs. Pack shared a little note about her love for being a counselor.
Why I love being a school counselor………Being a new school counselor means that my thoughts and expectations of what would happen are now coming to fruition. While I could try to predict the meaning that being a counselor would have in my life, it has become so much more than I thought it would be. When I initially faced the sea of student faces on my first day, I was a bit overwhelmed at not knowing any of the students. But that quickly changed. Elementary students generally are quick to love, and I witnessed that expression nearly immediately. In my few short months, I’ve learned of the students’ academic progress, their likes and dislikes, their dreams, extracurricular activities, and family dynamics. When Mr. Scott offered me the position, he asked if I’d like to join their Mountaineer Family. In my short time at Mountain Park Elementary, I do feel as if I’m a part of a family. Being able to encourage the students both in the classroom and individually has given me a renewed sense of purpose. I look forward to learning and growing as a school counselor in my endeavors to support the students that I serve.

We would like to congratulate Mason Frederick for representing Mountain Park at the County Spelling Bee. We are very proud of you!
