Mountain Park couldn't be more proud of our fifth graders! They are incredible leaders for our building and community! Yesterday they went on a field trip to see A Christmas Carol, and enjoyed lunch at Chick-fil-A. They received several compliments about their leadership and behavior while they were out and about! They were also excited to see two of our Mountaineers in the show. We are extremely proud of our Mountaineers!

Wishing our Robotics team best of luck today, as they compete in Charlotte for the regional competition!

Kindergarten loved learning about 3D shapes and eating their creations!

Kindergarten is learning about different shapes this week. The kids took the cone shape and turned it into an edible Christmas tree!

5th graders participated in a Socratic Seminar today discussing their current novel. Students led discussions about their book and the characters point of view. Our 5th grade readers are leaders!

Good Afternoon Mountaineers! This is your principal Matt Scott with a quick update.
The 13 Bones Spirit Night is today. We want to thank them as they will give back a percentage of every order they receive today. Even if you order take-out, they are giving back a portion of that as well. Please help support us by heading over to 13 Bones this evening if you are able.
The Rada orders have been delivered. They are in the front office. All orders must be picked up as we will not send any orders home with students.
Also, we will have a Paint & Pancakes Night on Dec. 15. Plan to join us at 5:00 for a pancake supper and then at 6:00 for a Paint Night. We will have student-made ornaments available at this event that you’re going to want to purchase as well. This evening will support our Student Council and Art program.
Those are all the announcements for tonight. I look forward to seeing our Mountaineers back on campus tomorrow.

2nd Grade learned how cranberries are grown and harvested. Using this information, students worked as a team to create rafts to float quarters. Each team had to see how many quarters it would hold before their raft sank.

The 2nd Annual Mountain Park Thanksgiving Parade was a huge success! Our parade featured ice cream cones, Shrek, Turkeys, Peppa the Pig and many more. Our 2nd-5th graders are so talented!

Coach Marion and Coach Pierce are very proud of the hard work and dedication that the members of the GROW Strong team put in. With their hard work and dedication, many future track stars will come from our Mountaineer family!
