Student Council Members visited Stone’s Throw Christian Ministry to deliver Sunshine Bags for Western North Carolina and learn of how they support our community members. Student Council also shopped and packed Thanksgiving Meal Boxes for MP Backpack Families.

Hello Mountain Park. On Tuesday this week, students will be competing in the annual Turkey Trot to try to win a free turkey. There is no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We will look forward to seeing students back at school on Monday, December 2nd.

5th graders took in the novel “Tuck Everlasting” this week by candlelight to match the 1800s setting. After reading each day, students added to their booklets to dig deeper into the characters and meanings behind the novel. We didn’t want the novel to end!

The 5th grade class proudly graduated from the D.A.R.E. program after a 10-week course with Officer Latza. The special guest speaker, Judge William F. Southern, spoke to the students about perseverance and his own experience in the D.A.R.E. program. Oliver Marshall, Layla Osborne, and Aisley Williams were selected to read their essays at the graduation ceremony, and they did a fantastic job representing what the class learned during the program. We couldn’t be more proud of how these 5th graders represented themselves today.
Congratulations!

K-2 loved their trip to The Farm today!

Good evening Mountain Park! Tomorrow, kindergarten, first, and second grades are traveling to The Farm for a field trip. Also on Monday, both the student council and the running club meet after school until 3:45. Due to the election Tuesday and the fact that Mountain Park is a voting site, November 5th will be a remote learning day for students at Mountain Park. On Wednesday, the Good News Club meets after school. Looking ahead, there is no school on Monday, November 11th for Veterans Day. Thank you so much to our PTO for a fantastic Fall Carnival! Thank you ALL for your effort on our school fundraiser. Thanks to you, we met our school goal of $4,000 raised meaning we will soon be having a school-wide dance party to celebrate.

Halloween fun was in full swing with our School Nutrition teams this week! 🎃👻 From festive costumes to spooky treats, our teams brought smiles and creativity to every cafeteria. Thank you to our School Nutrition staff for making this season extra special for our students. 🍂🍬
