National School Psychology Week 2025 will be held from November 3–7, 2025. The 2025 theme is "Finding Your Path," a celebration sponsored by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) to recognize the contributions of school psychologists in supporting student well-being, learning, and mental health.

Daylight saving time comes to an end on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 a.m., when the time goes back to 1 a.m.

Daylight saving time began last spring on March 9. Clocks will "spring forward" next year on March 8, 2026, when daylight saving time returns.

November is Native American Heritage Month, also called American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month, which is a nationally recognized time to celebrate the cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native Americans. The month was established in 1990 to honor the first peoples of the United States, raise awareness about tribal nations, and recognize their history and ongoing impact on the country.

We are working on being more active at home. If you wish to participate, print the sheet and return to Coach Fitzgerald at the end of the month. Those who participate will receive 15 minutes of extra free time in the gym!

On Friday, our Kindergarten students had a surprise guest reader, Dr. Kathy Mauzy. She brought along an interactive version of the story “Room on the Broom.” What a fun Halloween morning!

Our youngest Gators had a spook-tacular time trick-or-treating around the school today! They showed off their adorable costumes, practiced their manners, and enjoyed collecting treats from staff. 👻💚

💻 Internet safety and smart online choices

It was a great day of learning ways to stay healthy in body and mind! 🌟

Students dressed up as their dream jobs on Tuesday for Red Ribbon Week! 💼✨ From doctors to teachers to firefighters, our Gators showed that their futures are bright when they stay drug-free! ❤️🐊

On Tuesday, our Kindergarten students went on their annual trick-or-treating trip to the Surry County Service Center. Employees from multiple Surry County departments set up tables and handed out candy to our students in a festive Halloween atmosphere. We are so thankful for our Kindergarten students to have this opportunity each year!

National First Responders Day is observed annually on October 28 to honor the nation's first responders. It recognizes the bravery and service of individuals such as paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, and 911 operators who respond to emergencies and protect communities. The day was officially designated by the U.S. Congress in 2017.
Who it honors: The day celebrates all types of first responders, including emergency medical services (EMS), law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency dispatchers.
