Student Council is sponsoring Pajama Day on Friday, October 24th! Proceeds will support the student council. Our officers will come around and collect money that morning.

Our 2nd graders had an exciting trip to the North Carolina Zoo this week! They enjoyed learning about animals and exploring the exhibits on this wild adventure. 🦒🌿

Our 4th graders visited Old Salem in Winston-Salem this week! Students had a great time exploring history, learning about early life, and seeing how things were made long ago. What an exciting hands-on learning experience! 📚✨

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John. F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child's life and the impact it has made inside and outside of the classroom.
This year, National School Lunch Week is October 6th -10th, and the theme is "NSLW 2025: Taste the World: Your School Lunch Passport."

🏆🥄 Congratulations to Ms. Overby's Pre-K Grade Class for earning the Golden Spoon Award! 🥄🏆 They showed outstanding CHOMP behavior in the cafeteria by staying quiet and cleaning up their area. Way to go, Gators! 💚👏

Today, students saw Jack nd the Beanstalk, the Opera performance from the Piedmont Opera .
Living in poverty with his mother, Jack sells the family cow to a mysterious dustman for a handful of beans. When he returns home and shows his mom the scrawny seeds, she throws them out a window in despair. The beans, of course, take root, and in the moonlight a magical stalk grows to the sky.
Discovering the beanstalk and climbing it, as any boy hero would, Jack finds himself in the castle of a very large oaf and his kindly, haggard wife. Learning that this giant has taken his father’s golden hen, Jack, with the help of the Giant’s wife, stealthily takes it back. The Giant, in pursuit of Jack, receives a bump on the head after falling from the beanstalk, causing him to forget he’s supposed to be "bad". Realizing all the trouble he’s caused, the Giant resolves to behave well, agreeing that consideration for others requires people, large and small, to treat other people as they would want to be treated.

For the month of September, our staff demonstrated to students each day what it means to be Accountable. Staff voted Mrs. Erin Simpson as our staff leader of the month. They said, "She starts her job early and finishes late. Mrs. Simpson is accountable for the role she holds and works hard to make learning each day the BEST for her students. I see this in her daily walk and in her relationship with her students. She not only models this skill but teaches her students to be accountable, too. Mrs. Simpson always speaks with compassion and works diligently to ensure that she completes tasks at hand within her role. She is always willing to help out in any way she can." Thank you Mrs.Simpson for always leading our gators!
SAVE Assembly-
Our 4th grade SAVE Promise Club members hosted an assembly yesterday to teach students and staff about our leadership trait for October, Resilience. Our gators learned about what it means to keep reaching for our goals and not giving up. They also learned techniques on keeping a growth mindset! Keep Chomping! 🧡🐊💙
