Each student will receive two hearts to complete—one for Mrs. Waters and one for Mrs. Queen. These heartfelt notes will be displayed on the banners to show just how much we appreciate our principals! 🌟🐊

#SCSUpdates | 3rd Grade BOG-3 Results Are Now Available! 🎉

Congratulations to these Kindergarten Gators who have already earned their locomotor license this week in PE class! These students have already mastered all eight locomotor skills with proper form: run, walk, hop, jump, skip, gallop, leap, and side slide

Ms.Overby's class has been working hard on learning numbers and counting. In small groups, we have been working on numbers using our math stacker blocks. These are special form blocks where the height of a block corresponds to its numerical value, allowing students to see and understand number size and relationships physically. The kids love playing and learning with the blocks.

Thank you for the countless ways you support our students and staff each day—whether it’s helping in the classroom, guiding small groups, lending a hand wherever needed, or simply offering a smile. You are truly the heart of our school, and we couldn’t do it without you! 🐊✨

Today, the Surry County Sheriff’s Office visited Rockford Elementary’s third grade to help us learn more about community helpers. Students got to meet deputies and learn about the important jobs they do to keep our community safe. The officers brought the SWAT truck and drones for us to see up close, and everyone enjoyed asking questions and exploring the special equipment. It was an exciting way to learn how the Sheriff’s Office works to protect and serve our community!

Our science club is off to a bubbling start! We learned about chemical and physical changes while making elephant's toothpaste! We can’t wait to explore more topics this year.

Mrs. Hendrix's kindergartners have been learning about scarecrows this week. They enjoyed becoming a scarecrow by making a mask.

Year-round, the “If You See Something, Say Something®” campaign empowers and educates the public on the importance of recognizing and reporting suspicious activity to local authorities.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated September 25 as “If You See Something, Say Something®” Awareness Day, also known as #SeeSayDay.

On this day, DHS and partners across the country remind everyone to:
✅ Stay alert.
✅ Recognize suspicious activity.
✅ Report concerns to local authorities.

Together, we can help keep our communities safe. 💙
