SAVE Promise Club traveled today to the SAVE Promise Club Summit to work with other schools in Surry County Schools to create new ideas to bring kindness to our school. These students showed leadership as they shared their own ideas and planned for the remainder of the year.
Good morning Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with weekly news. Monday will be day 4 in our specials rotation. On Tuesday we will celebrate our 5th grade students as they graduate from the DARE program. This ceremony will be at 1:00 and we encourage you to join us. Also on Tuesday, chorus students will practice after school. On Wednesday, November 29th, our EBOB team will have practice after school. Please make sure your child has a note to stay for these events. We will release school early at 1:00 for professional development on Friday. Please make plans to pick your child up in the carline or be at the bus stop early. Finally, our PTO will host a Cookies with Santa event on Friday in the gym from 6:00-8:00. Tickets were pre-sold. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or a PTO member tomorrow if you are interested in this event. Thank you.

First-grade students have been learning about traditions. A first-grade tradition here at Rockford is reading the story “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and then enjoying a special snack just like the one from the story!

Students in Mrs. Freeman’s 4th grade created a collaborative paper quilt with all the things we are thankful for this Thanksgiving! We added some fun Turkey handprints because I am thankful for their hands that work so hard every day!
