Today during kindergarten PE class our little Gators participated in DEAR (Drop Everything And Read). Mrs. Fitzgerald had 5th grade students come and read with our kinder Gators. It was so fun watching our oldest Gators lead and interact with their partner while sharing books with them.

NATIONAL READ A BOOK DAY | SEPTEMBER 6 National Read a Book Day is observed annually on September 6th. National Read a Book Day invites us ALL to grab a book we might enjoy and spend the day reading. Don't keep it to yourself. Share the experience! Read aloud either to children or to grandparents. Read to your pets or to your stuffed animals and plants. Reading improves memory and concentration as well as reduces stress. Older adults who spend time reading show a slower cognitive decline and tend to participate in more mentally stimulating activities over their lifetime. Books are an inexpensive entertainment, educational tool and time machine too!

Today, Mrs. Martin’s 5th-grade science classes had a hands-on anatomy lesson! 🧪 The students got up close with chicken wings to see how muscles, tendons, and bones work together to create movement. 🦴💪 They explored the mechanics behind every flex and stretch, learning just how similar our own muscles and tendons are. What a fun and fascinating way to bring science to life! 🧠✨

Hannah Dudley is the staff leader of the month for self-awareness. Coworkers say Hannah speaks all the time about things she could do better. “I lost my patience a little with that group, I don’t know why I get that like. If they don’t know it, they don’t know it. I need to breathe and remember that”. It’s been so great to have a cooperating teacher who is so self aware of her actions and how she can do better so I can actively learn the best.
