Also, your child will bring home their 1st quarter progress report. Please take some time to review it with them and help them set goals for their first report card. On Tuesday, we will have GROW Strong and Chorus practice after school. Your child will need a note in order to be able to stay. Friday, September 15th will be a teacher workday. There will be no school for students. Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for our Fall pictures on September 21st. These photos will be used in our school’s yearbook. Thank you!
Good afternoon. This is Kelly Waters, principal of Rockford Elementary School. When something occurs that involves our students, I want to keep you informed and provide you with accurate information.
Today during recess, a student strayed from their class group and joined a different class group entering the school building. The teachers thoroughly searched the playground and then immediately notified myself, who chose to put the school in a shelter in place to locate that student. The student was quickly located and the shelter in place was lifted in less than 2 minutes.
I want to assure you that we take the safety of your children very seriously. Thank you for your involvement in your child’s education and your partnership with Rockford Elementary School. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at (336) 374-6300.
Congratulations are in order for our cafeteria staff! They got a 100 for their inspection today!
