Shoals Elementary

We had some very special guest this morning in our car rider line! Thank you to the members of the East Surry Football team who came out to open doors and greet our car riders this morning! They were so welcoming and polite to each and every student. Most of them were students at Shoals at one time or had siblings that were a part of Shoals. They were so respectful and used their manners with everyone they came in contact with! Thank you for being great role models for East Surry High School and Shoals Elementary! We are proud to call you a part of the Shoals family!

Recently we had the honor of having Private First Class Youngblood come to give our 5th grade students a lesson on the correct way to fold the flag.

Private First Class Youngblood is a former student of Shoals Elementary. His sister Rebekah is a 5th grader. Sisters, AnnaMarie and Angela also came to Shoals.

This was a great experience for our students! We are so thankful that he would take time out of his day to spend time with our 5th graders. Thank you for your service Private First Class Youngblood!

Thank you to the Surry Co. Health and Nutrition Center and members of the HOSA program from the Surry Early College for coming out today for a Health Fair. Students were rotated through stations to learn about Dental Hygiene, Nutrition, Halloween and candy safety and the HOSA students checked vision.

The Circus fun continues! A big Thank You to our child nutrition staff for embracing the theme of National School Lunch Week! The kids and staff have loved seeing all the ways they have brought The "Cafeteria Circus" theme to life each day!

We recently had some special visitors in the building!

Dr. Steve Hall, Dr. Matthew White and members of the School Board visited classrooms to see all the great things happening at Shoals. Dr. Hall and Dr. White had lunch with our SAVE Promise/Student Council members. The staff and students were treated to cookies during lunch. Dr. Hall along with members of the School Board helped to serve lunch in the cafeteria.

Technology constantly changes, and our IT professionals stay informed of trends and tools to serve our students, staff, and families well!
