Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood: 1/7/23 Good evening tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! This week we will continue our middle of the year reading assessments. We will be setting goals with students for this second semester and discussing what actions they need to take to be successful. 5th Grade will begin DARE on Monday. We are excited about our students starting this program with Deputy Latza! Our PTO will meet after school on Tuesday. We encourage any parent to join this group! Book battle will meet after school on Tuesday. Chorus will meet after school on Wednesday and travel to the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. 3rd-5th grade students will be taking their ELA and Math Check-In #2 on Thursday and Friday. Thank you for having your child here on time each day. Report cards go home on Friday. Please sit down with your child and set goals for the third quarter. This month’s leadership attribute is respect which is incorporated in our daily classroom lessons. Our 2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration is now open! Children that are 5 before August 31st are eligible for kindergarten next school year. Registration links can be found on our school website and Facebook page! Finally, there is no school on Monday, January 15th due to Martin Luther King Holiday. Have a wonderful week! Good night!

Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood: 12/31/23 Good evening, tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! I pray you all had a fabulous Christmas with your families and friends! There is no school Monday, January 1st and Tuesday, January 2nd due to New Years Holiday and a teacher workday. Students will return to school on Wednesday, January 3rd. We will celebrate student leadership with our leader lunch with Mr. King on Wednesday. Book battle and student council will meet after school on Thursday. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. We will have Drop Everything And Read on Friday. Encourage your child to bring a wonderful book to enjoy! Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood: 12/10/23 Good evening, tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! On Monday, 4th grade will travel to the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Please return your child’s permission form if they plan to attend. Our 1st Grade will travel to the Earle Theater on Tuesday and Mrs. Coe’s class on Wednesday. Please return your child’s permission form and money if they plan to attend. Our PTO Kindergarten and 1st grade program will be Tuesday night at 6:00 in our gym. Come out and hear joyful Christmas songs from our students! Students need to arrive at 5:45 and report to the cafeteria. On Tuesday, book battle meets and on Wednesday art club and chorus will meet. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. On Friday, we will celebrate student growth in learning their math facts this month! We are proud of our tigers focusing on math fluency! We will have Drop Everything And Read on Friday! Encourage your child to bring a great book to enjoy. Our school is transitioning SRO Officers to Officer Davis. Miss Olivia Whitaker spent the last few months as a student teacher for Mrs. Allie Woodring in 2nd grade. For her last two days (yesterday and today), there was a lot of gift exchanging and picture taking! The staff and students here at Dobson have enjoyed having her and are sending much love and best wishes for Miss Whitaker on her next journey! 💛
