Today, our dedicated bus drivers returned their buses for the summer and enjoyed a well-deserved Hot Dog Celebration at the Bus Garage. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, enjoy lunch, and socialize before heading off for summer break. They were greeted with cheers, high-fives, and smiles as they walked the halls where their educational journey began. It's a beautiful reminder of how far they've come and the bright futures ahead. On Wednesday, winners of the Superintendent's Art Contest in March were treated to a field trip reward for all of their hard work! The day consisted of African Drum lessons provided by Living Rhythms, a tour of the Andy Griffith Playhouse and Museum, and an art workshop! 🪘🎨🎭

Good evening, tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! This week is Staff Appreciation Week! We have the absolute best staff here at Dobson Elementary. They put their heart into their job each and every day. The love and support they show our students is seen in all they do. This week we celebrate them! Central Middle School will have a rising 6th grade transition night Tuesday night at 6:00. All rising 6th grade hornets are invited to attend. Tuesday night is 13 Bones Spirit Night! Come out and let your server know you are from Dobson Elementary! Students can bring in their receipts to the office for a homework pass! Wednesday is School Nurse Day! We are thankful for Mrs. Chattin and all she does to keep our students safe. Our chorus students will perform Wednesday night. Come out and hear some lovely singing. Our PreK class will have their awards ceremony on Thursday at 1:30. Parents are invited to attend. On Tuesday, art club will meet and on Wednesday gardening club will meet. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. We will have our EOG Pep Rally on Friday for 3rd-5th grade students! Our students are stepping up to the plate by demonstrating accountability and resiliency. Spring pictures and picture money are due. Thank you for sending this in. Our 3rd-5th grade students will take their End of Grade Tests on May 14th-16th. Mark your calendars for our End of Year Awards ceremony for K-4 students on May 20th.
