Collection envelopes with all the information you need will be sent home this week for our "Kids Heart Challenge", which raises money for the American Heart Association. Money can be raised both in person AND online!

All this is in addition to the playground equipment (donated in 2022), new tables for the library(fundraised for 2023), and this year supporting our specialty teachers (2024). We are thankful to have the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and support of local businesses to be able to make an impact on the students and staff at DES. Good evening, tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! This week is School Counseling Week! We are blessed to have Mr. King at Dobson Elementary! We appreciate the time he spends helping our students! Our chorus will meet on Monday and book battle on Tuesday. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. Our student leader lunch will be on Wednesday courtesy of Coaches in Dobson! Our district spelling bee is on Thursday. We wish Liam Mitchell good luck in the spelling bee. Progress reports will go home on Friday. Please sit down and set goals for your child for the remainder of the third quarter. We will celebrate student leadership on Friday with our ROAR celebration. We will be on a different lunch schedule on this day. Our PTO Sweetheart Dance will be on Friday, February 9th from 6:30-8:00 at the Barn at Heritage Farm. Ticket cost is $5 at the door and concessions will be available for purchase. Dress to impress! This event is for Dobson Elementary School students only. Our 2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration is now open! Children that are 5 on or before August 31st are eligible for kindergarten next school year. February is "Love the Bus" Month! This month, we strive to raise both awareness and appreciation for everyone involved in the safe experience of riding the bus to and/or from school.
