Good evening. I apologize for the incorrect message sent out earlier. Thank you all for a wonderful first week! I hope every student at Mountain Park has had a great experience so far. Please call the school any time if you need assistance with any matter or have a concern. In the afternoon car line, we would appreciate your pulling forward toward the fire department to buckle students in so that our car line is as efficient as possible. We look forward to welcoming our new preK students to school this week beginning on Wednesday. This week, all students should enter the building independently with the exception of preK. Looking ahead, there is no school on Monday, September 2nd. As always, thank you for your support of Mountain Park Elementary.

We are thrilled to be back at our favorite place! Please share all of your wonderful back to school photos below!

#SCSBackToSchool | Welcome back, Surry County Schools teachers and staff! 🍎 ✏
We're excited to kick off another amazing school year filled with new opportunities, growth, and success.

Hello Mountaineers! This is your new principal Blair Lambert. The Mountain Park staff and I are so excited to welcome students and families back to school next week! On Tuesday, August 6th, we will be having orientation here at school from noon until 6:00. All students will be receiving postcards in the mail from their teachers soon with appointment times for orientation. If the time does not work for you, please call the school; we will be happy to accommodate any needed appointment changes. This Thursday, August 1st from 5:00 until 6:00, I will be available in the media center for a "Meet and Greet" if you would like to come meet me before the school year begins. I would also like you to be aware that the Dollar General on Zephyr Road is currently fundraising for back-to-school supplies for our school. Please stop by the store if you would like to donate or need assistance with school supplies. We appreciate all you do to support Mountain Park Elementary and are looking forward to a great year!

We are only a few weeks away from the orientation and the first day of school! We can't wait to have our Mountaineers back in the building.
Before we begin, you will need to update your parent portal information. Please see the following directions for how to update your information.

Good afternoon Mountaineers! This is Matt Scott with a quick update.
As the district continues to take great pride in growing our school leaders by offering them an array of leadership opportunities, some administrative shifts were made during the July Board of Education meeting on July 1, 2024.
While I am sad to announce that I will be leaving Mountain Park, I am happy to announce that Blair Lambert, will be the new principal here effective immediately. It has been my honor and privilege to serve as principal of Mountain Park Elementary School. I will continue to support the new principal here as you transition into a new school year. I know you will be in great hands with Mrs. Lambert. As of today, I have been named as the new principal at Central Middle School. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Lambert to our Mountaineer family!
I'll keep looking forward to seeing our Mountaineers, but now it will be in the 6th grade!

Don’t mind us…we’re just PRODUCTIVE struggling and we can’t wait to share this with our students next school year!
“There is strength in the struggle. Learning how to be productive while embracing the struggle..."
We are so proud of our teachers for finding a PD that fits their needs and working together this summer to find ways to grow our students.
