🎉 Celebrating the Last Day of School with our amazing SCS Transportation team! 🌭
Today, our dedicated bus drivers returned their buses for the summer and enjoyed a well-deserved Hot Dog Celebration at the Bus Garage. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, enjoy lunch, and socialize before heading off for summer break. Thank you to all our bus drivers for keeping our students safe and on the move throughout the school year. Have a fantastic summer, and we look forward to seeing you again in the fall! 🚌💛 #ThriveSCS

Our beloved Mrs. Sanders is saying goodbye to Mountain Park today, as she retires. Mrs. Sanders has made a huge difference on our students, our school, and our community. We are thankful for every hat she wore and how she has supported and loved our kids.
Thank you for changing our school for the better. Best wishes for a wonderful retirement and many amazing camping trips!

Good Evening Mountaineers! This is your principal Matt Scott with this week’s updates.
Tomorrow is Field Day. Please send your students with a change of clothes, including shoes, and a towel. Students can also wear hats and sunglasses and a swimsuit under their clothes. Sunscreen will need to be applied at home as we cannot do that at school. Tuesday is awards day. The times are varied throughout the day so that if you have multiple students here, you can attend all your children’s awards celebrations. Those grade-level times have been communicated through your classroom communication as well as posted to our Facebook page. On Wednesday, our 5th graders will take their annual bowling field trip to celebrate their time here at Mountain Park together. Thursday we will host a promotion ceremony for our 5th graders at 9:00. We will dismiss school at 11:00 on Thursday.
We had a yearbook reveal and celebration on Friday. We passed out yearbooks to all the students who were present and purchased a yearbook. We have a few extra yearbooks that we will sell beginning Tuesday morning at 7:30. We will ONLY sell these in person and on a first come first served basis.
There is a new federal program to help provide food for families during the summer. Please take a look at the informational flyer on our Facebook page.
Those are all the announcements for tonight. I look forward to seeing our Mountaineers back on campus tomorrow.

Summer Athletic Camp registration is happening now! Please see the attached flyer for camp dates and grade spans. 🏀🏈🎾
Please contact each school to enroll in a sports camp.

We're splashing into the final days of the school year!

Tomorrow is Water Day for all our students at Mountain Park. We will take PreK-2nd Grade in the morning and 3-5 Grade in the afternoon. Please be reminded that students can wear a swimsuit under their clothes, but they need to have closed-toed shoes. Students also need to bring a towel, dry clothes, and dry shoes. Also, students must apply sunscreen before coming to school, we cannot do that at school. Students may also wear hats and sunglasses if they’d like.
As a heads up, lunch times will change to accommodate all students getting to spend time at the splash pad.
Those are all the announcements for tonight. I look forward to seeing our Mountaineers back on campus tomorrow.

*Students must apply sunscreen before coming to school.

Only 6 S’more days of school left!

Grade level awards are next Tuesday, May 21. Please see the schedule below for your child's scheduled award time. If you have any questions about awards, please contact the teacher.

As a little motivation for our 3-5 students we are going to have motivational dress up days. We are hoping that when students see everyone dressed up they are reminded how loved they are and to do their best! The clothing should be simple and non-distracting for the students. All grade levels are encouraged to participate.

Good Evening Mountaineers! This is your principal Matt Scott with this week’s updates.
This week our 3rd-5th graders will show off all they’ve learned this year. On Tuesday they will take the Reading EOG, on Wednesday, the Math EOG, and on Friday, our 5th graders will take the Science EOG. Please make sure your student is well rested and on time as we will start right at 8:00 each day.
We will have our annual Water Day on Thursday. Look for information to come home early in the week for this fun day!
Be on the lookout for flyers coming home about the Surry Central High School Football Camp. The camp will be held at Surry Central on May 20th and 21st in the evening.
Overdue library book notes came home on Friday. Please either send the book or the money to replace them so we can keep our library full of fun and exciting books for our students to read.

We can't wait to see our students rock out the EOG's this year! They've been working hard and now it's time to show off what they've learned!
Here are a few helpful tips before testing day:
1- Get plenty of sleep
2- Arrive to school on time
3-Have a positive attitude (parents write an encouraging note)
4-Always remember that we love you and are proud of you!
