Good Evening Mountaineers! This is your principal Matt Scott with this week’s updates.
We have a change war going on at Mountain Park. All grade levels are involved and we are raising funds for the Surry County Schools Educational Foundation and the United Fund of Surry. The class that raises the most money will receive an ice cream party. So talk to your family and friends and bring in any loose change you can find to help raise money for these great causes.
Our Chocolate Bar Fundraiser will kickoff this on Thursday of this week. Students were given check-out forms on Friday. Students must bring that form back signed in order to receive their chocolate bars. We have lots of great prizes listed and other information on the bottom of the sheet that came home Friday. We do not do many fundraisers, so we really need every student to sell at least one box.
Picture Day is Monday! Reminders came home Friday and no money is needed. Our Grow Strong Running Team will practice on Monday until 4, but will NOT practice on Thursday since we dismiss at 1:00 on Thursday. Please make sure all running club 5K permission forms are turned in to Mrs. Marion as soon as possible. On Tuesday, our 1st Grade will visit the Andy Griffith Playhouse and our Kindergarteners will visit on Wednesday. The Robotics Team will practice after school on Tuesday until 4:30. Again, on Thursday, we will dismiss at 1:00 and there will be no school on Friday.
We are already collecting several jackets that have been left or lost. Please help us find the owner of lost jackets by placing the name of your student in them.
Our Fall Festival will be here soon. We’ll be hosting it here at school on October 26 from 5:30-7:30. We need bags of candy for the festival prizes. If you can help, send your bags and we will collect them in the front office. Please mark your calendars to come attend this fun-filled evening.
