New for the 2023-2024 School Year!
FREE Breakfast and Lunch
NO COST BREAKFAST & LUNCH for ALL Elementary & Middle School students as part of the Community Eligibility Provision or CEP.
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a USDA school meal funding option that enables schools to provide free meals to students. Just like textbooks and computers, under CEP, school meals are available to students at no cost to them at designated schools.
Families with High School students are encouraged to apply for free & reduced meals using the traditional process. Families that receive FNS benefits from DSS do not need to apply!
USDA and this institution are an equal opportunity employer and provider.

As a culminating activity on the study of early man, 6th-grade students in Social Studies class stepped back in time to create their own primitive drawings. Students quickly realized how difficult it is to write a story on "animal hide", using sticks, paint, and no words.

Our 6th-grade class has been studying about graphing in the coordinate plane.
Today, to review skills, we completed a cooperative Quiz Quiz Trade activity. Classmates quizzed each other on skills related to graphing points in the coordinate plane.

How exciting to have everyone back at the Nest! Welcome Back Ravens!!!

As the sun sets over the Ravens Nest, great excitement stirs in the hearts of teachers and students alike.
Teachers have spent the past week in careful preparation to prepare their classrooms to be the perfect learning environment. Parents and students have wrapped up summer activities and exchanged them for earlier bedtimes and regular routines.
Rest easy tonight Ravens. It's going to be an amazing year!

It’s a beautiful day in Surry County! Why? Because today we got to say welcome back to teachers and staff in one of the best ways: Convocation!
This year’s theme, Thrive, was the emphasis of the program. Employees were invited to Pilot Mountain Middle School where they got to mingle with local community and business partners, along with a program featuring remarks from dynamic leaders in the district. Door prizes collected from local businesses were given away to lucky employees!
Thank you to everyone involved who made this event possible! #ThriveSCS
