Mrs. Custodio's fifth-grade math students celebrated completing their Fractions Unit and Valentine's Day by enjoying a delicious yogurt parfait. Each ingredient used was carefully measured using measuring cups. Students then used their knowledge of adding fractions to calculate the total amount of ingredients used to create their parfait.

National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day
National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day in 2025 is on February 15. The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) established the day in 2022 to recognize the work of school resource officers (SROs). What do SROs do? SROs are sworn law enforcement officers who serve in schools. They help students stay safe and learn about crime prevention, drug awareness, and the legal system. SROs also act as informal mentors and liaisons to community services. SROs can help reduce crime, suspensions, and disciplinary actions in and around schools. Why celebrate SROs? SROs are essential members of the school community who help keep students safe. SROs play a unique and vital role in law enforcement. SROs help bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth. A Big Thank You to Officer Darrell Danley! We want to express our deepest appreciation for Officer Darrell Danley, our dedicated School Resource Officer at Rockford Elementary. Officer Danley plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and school community. His commitment, professionalism, and caring attitude make a positive impact every day. Thank you, Officer Danley, for your service and for being an integral part of our school family!
