Our makeup date for class pictures is Friday, February 21.
At the beginning of January, our SAVE Promise club started a food drive themed "Soup-er Bowl". Our club wanted to collect 1000 items that would be donated to local families in need. We are so thankful for all who contributed to this cause. We are pleased to announce that we have four winners in this competition.
1st place, Mrs. Simmon's 2nd-grade class brought in 1,166 items.
2nd place, Ms. Newman's Kindergarten class brought in 438 items.
3rd place, Mrs. Porterfield's Kindergarten class brought in 147 items.
4th place, Mrs. Johnson's 3rd grade class brought in 62 items.
We are extremely proud to announce that our school brought in a total of 2,322 items and went above and beyond our goal of 1000 items!
SCS will be on a 2 hour delay today Wednesday, February 12. Class pictures will be rescheduled with the new date communicated soon.

Congratulations to the PE Assistant Coaches for Mrs. Fitzgerald for February. These students have been great leaders in the gym. Way to CHOMP Gators!
Rockford Elementary SAVE Promise first graders lead our school-wide assembly about our leadership trait of the month. These Gators demonstrated to the students and staff what it means to be a leader using Active Listening skills. Our leadership team in SAVE Promise also shared updates on our ongoing food drive. We are almost to our goal!
Fifth graders participate in a demonstration to show how warm and cool air affects the air pressure. When an empty bottle was placed into a bowl of hot water, the pressure around the bottle increased, causing the balloon to inflate. When the bottle was moved to a cold bowl of water, the pressure dropped and the balloon deflated.
