Our Lego Gators Robotics Team competed this past Saturday at Surry Community College at the First Lego League Competition. They placed 10th out of 23 teams. They worked so hard and performed at their very best! Most of all they had fun and learned lots! Congratulations to coach Britney Shelton for receiving the Coach Award. She says that the award is for the whole team as she would not be there without them and their hard work!

National School Psychology Week (NSPW)
During the week of November 11-15th, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and schools across the United States will mark National School Psychology Week (NSPW). This week celebrates the contributions of school psychologists and the important role they play in schools and communities. NSPW is an annual opportunity to recognize school psychologists' work to help children thrive in school, at home, and in life. This year’s theme, “Spark Discovery,” recognizes the work that school psychologists do to help their communities seek out new ideas, effect change, and expand horizons for children and youth. Join us by taking this week to embark on a journey of discovery, explore how each person can celebrate the work of school psychologists, and learn how school psychologists help students, families, and communities every day.

Veterans Day is a time to honor and pay our deepest respects to those who have served. On this special day, we stand united in gratitude, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of our veterans.

In Mrs. Day’s class, students learned about Jim Henson, the legendary creator of the Muppets and a pioneer in the world of puppetry. Henson’s innovative work in television and film revolutionized the way puppets were used for storytelling, making characters like Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Big Bird beloved by audiences worldwide. After reading about his life the students had the chance to read with their own puppets in class. This activity allowed them to explore puppetry, just as Jim Henson did, while encouraging imagination and storytelling skills.

Just a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

#SCSUpdates | Reminder: No School Monday, November 11th in Observance of Veterans Day.
