In honor of November’s character trait, Integrity: I stand up for what I believe in, the SAVE Promise Club at Rockford Elementary acted out The Bad Seed for our students! 🌻📖 Through this story, they showed how choosing kindness and standing up for what’s right makes a positive impact. Thank you to the SAVE Promise Club for bringing this message to life!

Rockford Elementary PTO's Boo Bash was a blast! 🎉🍂 On Friday, November 1st, students celebrated fall with fun activities, including dancing with DJ Danny, fairy hair, face painting, a cake walk, and more! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable night of laughter and community spirit!

Daylight saving time always runs from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November and, on those days, Americans shift their clocks forward and back one hour, respectively, to make use of more daylight hours in the spring and summer months.

Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each year in November. It is a time to celebrate the traditions, languages and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities and ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation. This November and every month, we celebrate the culture and heritage of these remarkable Americans who deeply enrich the quality and character of our Nation. We celebrate Indian Country with its remarkable diversity of American Indian and Alaska Native cultures and peoples while remembering and honoring our veterans who have sacrificed so much to defend our Nation.

October staff leader of the month Elia Martinez. Elia wears many hats. She is an employee, a mentor to other employees in the school system, a coworker, student, friend, mother, wife and daughter. She does things at RES that are beyond her job duties, helping both students and staff. Finance is a big job with a lot of responsibility. In addition to her job duties, she is also happy to help Jennifer Creed, the school nurse when she needs a translator. Elia and Jason share
"nurse duty" when Jennifer is away at her other school. Elia spent two days away from her job duties, sick, in pouring hurricane rain, in a boot/crutches/scooter for her broken foot, knowing that she would be behind with her own work when she returned to school and she never complained. We are so thankful for Elia. She takes care of everyone (family and work) all while keeping up with her own school work and managing her own life, and does it with a smile. She is a wonderful co-worker and most days, we could not do our job without her.

Our student of the month for October and for showing outstanding skills with Resiliency is Isaiah McGee. Isaiah is always challenging himself to try new things and figure out new problems. Isaiah always continues to try and reach his goal, no matter how many times he has to try. He is a wonderful role model for others. He never gives up, even when things get tough. Way to be a great leader Isaiah!

The Student Council-sponsored Halloween Costume Contest was a huge success! 🎃 For entry, students brought donations for the Foothills Food Pantry, and together we collected an incredible 300 pounds of food! The donations were delivered today, showing once again how our Rockford Gators come together to support our community. Way to go, Gators!

The Science of a Pumpkin! 🎃 Rockford Elementary’s 2nd graders dove into all things pumpkin this week! They explored questions like, How tall is a pumpkin? How much does it weigh? Will it sink or float? Hands-on experiments brought science to life as students made predictions and tested their ideas. Great job, 2nd grade scientists!
