This is an important announcement about our yearbook sale. Today, Friday, April 12, is the LAST day to order and purchase a yearbook online. Monday will be the last day to purchase yearbooks at school; you may send in cash or a check with your child on Monday to order a yearbook. The cost is $35.
Please know that no extra yearbooks are ordered and sold at the end of the year. All yearbooks must be purchased in advance. Again, today is the last day to purchase a yearbook online and the last day for yearbook sales is Monday, April 15.

Good morning Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with events for the week. Monday will be day 2 in our specials rotation. This week GROW Strong will practice after school on Tuesday and Thursday. The Art Club will meet on Tuesday and Robotics will meet on Wednesday. Please make sure your child has a note to stay for these events. Our 3rd-5th grade students will take practice EOGs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Attendance on these days is very important. These assessments will help us plan for the remainder of the year. Tuesday night is RES Spirit Night at Tlaquepaque. Please come out and support our school by picking up some delicious food. On Wednesday, our 2nd-grade students will travel to the Brenner’s Children’s Museum, and on Thursday, our 3rd-graders will travel to the NC Zoo. We are excited about these opportunities for our students. Please contact your child's teacher if you need more information about these trips. Finally, there will be no school for students on Friday, April 12th due to a Teacher Workday. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Today in PE Mrs. Newman’s class learned about Mexico and some games that would traditionally be played there. After learning Mar y Tierra, Sarah Landacerde Martinez shared how she has played the same game. Mrs. Fitzgerald was super impressed with Sarah’s poise and leadership as she shared with the class.

Third graders from Rockford Elementary thoroughly enjoyed their field trip to Surry Community College on Wednesday. The instructors did an amazing job of talking to the kids about 2-year programs that are available through the college. They got to learn about all the different career opportunities SCC has to offer and had a delicious lunch at the Knights Grill.





Kindergarten had an egg-tastic time yesterday on their Easter egg hunt!

Prevent Child Abuse Week- April 1st-5th


Being a part of GROW Strong isn’t just about becoming a better runner, it is also about getting stronger and building character. Our Gators are working hard to grow in all these areas!

Mrs. Newman’s third-grade class enjoyed a visit from the Surry County Health
Department on Monday. Students learned how to shop the outside aisles at the grocery store and read nutrition labels. They also worked in groups to create a healthy plate. Thank you Surry County Health Department for a great class!
