Good morning Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with events for the week. Monday will be day 5 in our specials rotation. This week our GROW strong team running practices resume on Tuesday and Thursday. Also, the Chorus will practice after school on Tuesday and the Art Club will meet on Wednesday after school. Please make sure you have a note to stay for these activities. Remember that all monies collected for the American Heart Association for the Kid's Heart challenge need to be turned in to Mrs. Fitzgerald by Monday. Our Spring book fair will be held this week. This is always an exciting event and an opportunity to pick up some new books! As a reminder, there will be no school for students on Friday, February 23rd. Finally, due to limited space in our cafeteria, students who have visitors for lunch should only have 2 friends from their class sit with them. Please note that if we have numerous visitors at the same time, school staff will ask that only 1 friend sit with your child. Thank you.

Rockford LOVES their bus drivers! Students signed their bus drivers' posters for the Love the Bus Week. Thank you, Jerry, Leigh, and Vicki for all you do for our Gators!

Kindergarten LOVES Officer Danley!! Thank you for all you!

All monies are due to Mrs. Fitzgerald by Monday for this year's Kid Heart Challenge!

Mrs. Custodio's class played "charades" to learn more about weather fronts!

May today be filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished moments. Let's spread love, kindness, and gratitude!

It's Book Fair time!!! Please see the times available to visit the fair.

First grade learned about different landforms this past week, so to show what they learned students made edible landforms! ⛰️🌊🌴

Good evening Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with events for the week. Monday will be day 6 in our specials rotation. On Monday, all county chorus students will practice and on Friday, our SAVE Promise club will meet after school. Please make sure your child has a note to stay for these events. Looking ahead, our Spring book fair will be February 19-22. This is always an exciting event and an opportunity to pick up some new books! We are currently taking registrations for rising kindergarten students. Any child who will be 5 on or before August 31, 2024, is eligible. Please see our Rockford Elementary School website or the Surry County Schools website for a link. Finally, as we start to plan Spring field trips, please remember that payments can be made online and we still accept checks also. I hope you have a restful evening and a wonderful week!

Fatima represented RES well at the SCS Spelling Bee last night. We are so proud of her!

Looks like Mrs. Wishy Washy visited first grade also on World Read Aloud Day! AIG students also visited first grade and performed poems.

“Mrs. Wishy Washy” (Mrs Joy Hemmings) came to read aloud to kindergarten today for World Read Aloud Day.

Here's to the authors who inspire us, the storytellers who captivate us, and the readers who bring words to life. Happy World Read Aloud Day! 📚🌍✨

🌟School Counselor Spotlight🌟
Ms Goins shared her thoughts on why she loves being a school counselor………
I LOVE being a school counselor because it allows me to have a better understanding of our students as a whole person. I have the privilege of watching our kids grow into their abilities and help them set goals for themselves. As a school counselor, I get to support them in the ways that they need and help them navigate the future that they are racing toward.

Our Gators are still raising money for the American Heart Challenge! Thank you to those who have been working so hard for this cause. You still have time to set up your child’s online account and send those emails and texts to help raise money for this wonderful cause. Remember, all donations are due back to Mrs Fitzgerald by February 16.

Happy National School Counselor Week!!! ❤️📚✨
We want to say THANK YOU to Ms Goins for her unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to our school community. Her guidance, empathy, and encouragement make a world of difference in the lives of our students, helping them navigate challenges, achieve their goals, and realize their full potential. Her efforts extend far beyond the classroom, shaping the future leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow. She is the heart and soul of our school community, and we are endlessly grateful for everything you do!
