Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood: 12/10/23 Good evening, tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! On Monday, 4th grade will travel to the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Please return your child’s permission form if they plan to attend. Our 1st Grade will travel to the Earle Theater on Tuesday and Mrs. Coe’s class on Wednesday. Please return your child’s permission form and money if they plan to attend. Our PTO Kindergarten and 1st grade program will be Tuesday night at 6:00 in our gym. Come out and hear joyful Christmas songs from our students! Students need to arrive at 5:45 and report to the cafeteria. On Tuesday, book battle meets and on Wednesday art club and chorus will meet. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. On Friday, we will celebrate student growth in learning their math facts this month! We are proud of our tigers focusing on math fluency! We will have Drop Everything And Read on Friday! Encourage your child to bring a great book to enjoy. Our school is transitioning SRO Officers to Officer Davis. For her last two days (yesterday and today), there was a lot of gift exchanging and picture taking! Bus leaders will enjoy time with Mrs. Queen on Monday and student leaders will have lunch with Mr. King on Wednesday. Mrs. Simpson’s Paint the Night Away event is Thursday night. This is a ticketed event that must have been purchased in advance to attend. Tickets are no longer available for purchase. Our Tiger Leaders will go Angel Tree Shopping on Thursday. Please return your child’s permission form if they plan to attend and send money for lunch. We wish our classroom spelling bee winners good luck as they compete on Friday in our school spelling bee! Parents of participants are invited to attend. Our leadership attribute for December is consideration. What a wonderful time of the year to talk about showing kindness to others! Weekly Message from Mrs. Hazelwood: 11/13/23 Good evening, tiger families! This is Mrs. Hazelwood calling with tiger news! Our canned food drive has started! Please encourage your child to bring in canned food for our backpack program! The top class will receive a donut party! This week, families are invited to “A Gathering at Our Table”! Join us for a story walk and fun, interactive activities with your child! The times are listed on our school Facebook page. On Tuesday, our PTO will meet. We would love for any parent interested in joining this team to attend. Coaches Spirit Night will be on Wednesday night! Homework passes will be given out from 5-6! Let your server know you are from Dobson Elementary! Our PTO donuts will be delivered on Friday. Families may pick up their donuts between 2:00-5:00 in our school cafeteria. On Monday, running club and chorus will meet. Robotics will meet on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and art club will meet on Thursday. Please send a note if your child plans to stay. We wish our GROW Strong running club good luck on Friday at their race and a good luck to our robotics team as they compete on Saturday! We are proud of our tigers!
