📚✏️ The 2026–2027 Rockford Elementary School Supply Lists are now available! It's time to start preparing for another exciting school year, and we encourage all families to review the supply list for their child's grade level to ensure they have everything needed for a successful first day. Please remember that Kindergarten and 1st Grade students should not bring markers or colored pencils. Donations of hand sanitizer, Kleenex, and sanitizing wipes are always appreciated and help keep our classrooms healthy throughout the year. Thank you for your continued support of Rockford Elementary—we can't wait to welcome all of our Gators back for an amazing school year! 💙🐊

Juneteenth, officially known as Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery. It marks the anniversary of the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that all enslaved people were free.

Happy Juneteenth!
Today, we celebrate freedom, history, and hope while honoring the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is a time to reflect, learn, and recognize the importance of unity, equality, and community.

June is National Dairy Month – a perfect time to celebrate all the great things about dairy. Whether you enjoy pizza, ice cream, cheese, yogurt, or a bowl of cereal with milk for breakfast, there are many reasons to give thanks to our dairy farm families, who bring these delicious items from their local farms to your table.

National Dairy Month is celebrated every June across the United States. Established in 1937, it recognizes the vital contributions of dairy farmers and highlights the nutritional benefits of milk, cheese, and yogurt.

Staff Leader of the Month-
This month's staff leader is Amanda Thomas. She consistently creates a supportive environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued by approaching each interaction with empathy, patience, and without judgment. Amanda takes the time to truly listen and understand students’ perspectives, helping to build trust and encourage engagement. She remains calm and respectful in challenging situations, validating students’ feelings and modeling positive communication and emotional regulation. She extends this same respect and empathy to her colleagues, fostering positive, collaborative relationships with staff as well. Additionally, she is intentional about including all students and meeting them where they are, fostering a strong sense of belonging and confidence. Amanda’s compassion and authenticity make a lasting impact. Keep Chomping Gators!

Mrs Pattie Martins 2023-2024 third-grade class came full circle this morning on their last day of fifth grade! While in third grade, they helped Mrs. Annette Draughn edit her second book, Mr. Bob Needs a Cake for Mrs. Honey. Today, they received Young Editor Awards and copies of the book! Mrs. Draughn inscribed a special message to each kid on the cover, gave them a special thank you in the front, and included their class picture at the end. They were so excited to receive these treasures and hear Mrs Martin bring their suggestions to life. The students LOVED the book! Thank you so much, Annette Draughn, for including these kids in your journey as a published author!
