#SCSSchoolNutrition | SCS cafeterias are serving up nutritious, delicious options every day, and we want our students to make the most of them! 🥗🍓🥕

Parents, encourage your student to try something new at lunch. Grab the pizza, sure…but don’t forget to add some fresh fruit, vegetables, or a salad to the plate, too!

A balanced lunch helps fuel students for learning, growing, and making the most of their school day. So, next time you’re in the lunch line, look beyond the usual choice and give something new a try!

This month, our Save Promise students put on an assembly for our school to learn more about self-awareness. Self-Awareness means understanding what we feel, why we feel it, and how our feelings affect our actions. We learned that understanding our emotions helps us understand ourselves. Genevieve, Harper C, Harper A, Corbin, Juliana, Mya, and Ruth helped teach our school what self-awareness means by putting on a performance featuring the characters from Inside Out! We will strive this month to be more self-aware, which means to recognize our feelings before reacting, learn healthy ways to express emotions, and also learn that all of our emotions have a purpose!

"Silver Apple Award for August! Grayce Goins-Simmons
I am presenting the Silver Apple to a person who never stops! This person always makes sure that everyone is taken care of, even before thinking about themselves. No job is too little or too big for her. She is an amazing role model for students, and they truly love and look up to her. I have never seen this person upset; no matter how busy or stressful the day may be, she always greets everyone with kindness, patience, and most importantly, a smile.

She goes above and beyond every single day, not because she has to, but because she genuinely cares about the people around her. Whether it is helping a student through a tough moment, supporting staff members, or simply being someone others can count on, she does it all with grace and compassion. Our school is a better place because of her dedication and kind heart.

It is truly an honor to pass the Silver Apple Award on to our wonderful guidance counselor, Grayce Goins-Simmons! Presented By: Elia Martinez
