The Surry County Board of Education has accepted multiple draft calendars for public comment for the 2025-2026 school year. Potential start dates include August 7, 2024, August 11, 2024, August 13, 2024, and August 25, 2024.
These calendars are available for public comment for the next 30 days, and those who wish to contribute feedback are encouraged to fill out the attached Google form or contact the Surry County Schools Administrative Offices at (336)386-8211.

Tree Topper: Wear your favorite holiday hat or headband!

First grade learned about the history of a Gingerbread House and then created a 2D gingerbread house using graham crackers, icing, and candies!

Arrival Time: Please have students arrive 15 minutes before showtime at 5:45 PM.
Drop-Off Location: Students will sit in the cafeteria, while parents head to the gym to be seated.
What to Wear: Students are encouraged to wear Christmas colors and hats (if they have them).

🎶🎄 Christmas Concert Fun!
SCHS visited Rockford Elementary today to perform a special Christmas concert! Students and staff had a wonderful time enjoying the holiday spirit through music and celebrating the season together. Thank you, SCHS, for sharing your talent and spreading Christmas cheer! 🎅✨











Mrs Freeman’s second grade went Christmas Caroling around school today. We brought our vocabulary word carols and caroling to life by singing carols to everyone!

Our 1st-grade students wrote and mailed their letters to Santa last week! Filled with holiday wishes and cheer, these letters are on their way to the North Pole. We hope Santa enjoys reading each and every one of them! 🎄✨
