It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, enjoy lunch, and socialize before heading off for summer break. Good day Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with events for the week. Monday, we will have Water Day as a celebration of the hard work our students have put in this year and all they have accomplished. Please make sure your child brings a towel, and change of clothes, and wears appropriate shoes. Students may wear swimsuits under clothing, but NO midriffs or bare chests will be allowed. Also, please apply sunscreen to your child before they leave home. We are not permitted to apply sunscreen at school. Wednesday, May 22nd will be our awards day. Each grade level’s awards will be at a different time, so you can attend multiple awards if needed. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you are unsure of the time. We have had an amazing year and learned a lot. We would love for you to join us to celebrate our students on this day. Thursday will be our last day of school and we will dismiss at 11:00. Please be on time for the car line or at your child’s bus stop early. We will not have after-school daycare on this day and students will not be brought back to campus as buses will not be returning here. Finally, our lost and found continues to be overflowing. Please stop in and see if anything belongs to your child. These items will be donated if not claimed this week. I hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you in August!

Good morning Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with events for the week. Monday will be day 2 in our specials rotation. This week our 3rd-5th grade students will complete the EOGs. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives at school on time each day. On Tuesday, our Art Club will meet after school. Please make sure your child has a note to stay. On Friday, our Kindergarten students will travel to Tweetsie for Letterland Days. This will be an exciting day and we look forward to hearing about their adventure. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Today, seniors completed their senior walk, visiting all of our elementary and middle schools in the Central District. They were greeted with cheers, high-fives, and smiles as they walked the halls where their educational journey began. It's a beautiful reminder of how far they've come and the bright futures ahead. On Wednesday, winners of the Superintendent's Art Contest in March were treated to a field trip reward for all of their hard work! The day consisted of African Drum lessons provided by Living Rhythms, a tour of the Andy Griffith Playhouse and Museum, and an art workshop! 🪘🎨🎭

Mrs. Freeman’s 4th-grade class took advantage of the great weather to do outside learning! We used chalk to review multiplying and division. Then we read “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” outside. It was a beautiful morning!

Good morning Gators! This is Mrs. Waters with events for the week. Monday will be day 3 in our specials rotation. This week we will celebrate our teachers and staff all week with a Totally 90s-themed Teacher Appreciation Week. Make sure you let your child’s teachers know how much you appreciate them and what an impact they have had this year. Our K-2 students will complete math benchmarks this week. I know they have learned a lot and I can’t wait to see their growth! On Tuesday, our 5th-grade students will attend transition night at Central Middle School. This event begins at 6:00. We wish them well as they begin their transition from Gators to Hornets. On Friday our SAVE Promise Club will meet after school. Please make sure your child has a note to attend. Also on Friday, money for Spring Pictures is due. Please send in the correct change for this. If you are not purchasing pictures, please return them to school. Looking ahead, our 3rd-5th grade students will take EOGs on May 14th-16th. Please make sure your child is in attendance each day. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Mrs. Newman's third-grade class finished reading the Lemonade War this week. They celebrated with some lemonade of their own and a visit from the State Employees Credit Union. They have been learning about saving vs spending, starting your own business, making bad choices, and forgiveness. Thank you to our friends at SECU!
Our SAVE Promise club presented the Buddy Bench they have been working on all year long to our students this morning. They were inspired by the book "The Buddy Bench" by Patty Brozo and Mike Deas. They also read this book to everyone in hopes that they will use the Buddy Bench. Great work Gators! 🧡🐊💙

Mrs. Salina from Dobson Community Library came to read and speak with Kindergarten, first, and second grades today. Students learned all about their summer reading program and colored bookmarks. We encourage everyone to read over the summer! Please check out Dobson Community Libraries summer reading program.
Parents, please check your students' take-home folders for any library book notices. We are having a Popsicles & Playground Day on May 9th for all classes that have all of their library books turned in! Thank you for your help with this!
